A tall, spindle-like piece, thrown on the wheel in sections and assembled thereafter. Glazed in a glassy, transparent green that pools and darkens in the creases of the piece. Blue glaze has also been lightly brushed over the surface before being fired, creating a repeating vertical pattern around the length of the body. This is one of a number of works inspired by the shapes of the ironwork railings encountered around Brighton & Hove.

Fully glazed, this piece holds water and best suits cut flowers with tall stems like agapanthus or gladioli, but is also a striking piece on its own.

An image of two tall, slender stoneware vases with a ribbed and undulating surfaces. The vase on the left of the image is glazed in a deep purple/blue colour, and has surface details in the form of small dots and ribs that run down the length of its body. The vase on the right is coated in a glassy light green glaze and it has darker green/blue accents at its rounded base that have been painted with a brush. Both vases contain violet blue agapanthus and coral coloured carnations.
